Although I have many professional interests, I have strong neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessment skills. Most commonly, my work is with individuals between the ages of 7 and 80. Most of my professional experience is testing individuals with a variety of diagnoses including neurological illness, autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, memory impairment, deficits in attention and executive dysfunction. Emotional and social factors are often included in my standard test battery. I also have specific experience in working with aging adults to evaluate cognitive decline/impairment, changes in cognitive status and dementia.
Finally, I am also a skilled therapist. I have specific training in cognitive and behavioral therapy but have also found interpersonal and dynamic modalities to be useful in treatment. Areas of specific interest include adolescent and adult wellness, interpersonal difficulties and stress management. Collaboration with the client is of greatest importance. Developing healthy coping strategies to allow for optimal cognitive and emotional functioning are often emphasized.
